When I'm busy chasing haggis around the Scottish Highlands on St Andrew's Day, Sunday 30th November 2008 the official start date for hunting haggis season, many hundred's of thousands of Scots around the world will be holding special St Andrew's Day parties and events to celebrate Scotland's patron Saint, St Andrew. St Andrew's Day is Scotland's National Day to celebrate Scottish culture, food and dance.
St Andrew's Day celebrations are held all over Scotland, and the rest of the globe. Normally more St Andrew's Day parties and celebrations are held abroad by Scottish Expats living outwith Scotland than people living in Scotland. St Andrew's Day parties and events range from Ceilidhs, dances and dinners from as far as Sydney in Australia, Siberia in Russia and California in the USA.

Not long now till the Scottish Haggis Hunting season starts in 2008/2009. The new haggis hunting season starts on Sunday 30th November and finishes on Sunday 25th January 2009.
Can't wait to put on my green wellies and hunting gear on 30th November, St Andrew's Day and head for the Scottish Highlands to hunt for the haggis. Hopefully I'll catch a few haggis this new haggis hunting season and serve them up in a nice meal with my friends. Last Haggis Hunting season was a complete disaster. Couldn't catch an elusive haggis and ended up giving my friends beans on toast for their dinner on Burns Day!!. At least we still had plenty of whisky to drink!!!
Been exercising the last few months to build up my staminar so that I can really chase the little blighters running around the mountains in the Scottish Highlands. Definately fighting fit for the new Haggis Hunting season. Beware, Haggis, I'm coming to get you!! Looking forward to my Burns Supper on Sunday 25th January!! The last day of the Haggis Hunting season
