Here is a bit more information on what the buttons on the blogging page are for. Take a look at the picture below to see what the tabs mean.
1. Home – This is the homepage of all bloggers on Emigro.com. You’ll be able to see anybody’s blog pages from this tab. When you update your blog other users will be able to read it from here.
While you can start writing your blog immediately, you might find it useful to have a quick read of this section in order to get the most out of your blog posts. Take a look at the picture below for further details.
1. My Entries – This tab lists all the recent blog posts you have written
To visit the forums, first click on the “Forum” button on the top navigation menu. The picture will give you more information about the forum.
1. Recent Discussions – this shows the most recently replied to forum posts
If you want to reply to a topic then press the Reply Topic button when you are in a particular forum thread.
Emigro.com allows you to write reviews of hotels, restaurants, services, nightclubs and tourist attractions so that other expats will be able to use the “wisdom of the crowds” if they plan to move to a particular country. To write a review hover over the “Reviews” button on the top menu then click on the button “Submit a review” Now select the section that you want to write a review of, for example, a review of a bar. Then select the category, this is the country where the bar is located. If you can’t find that particular country listed then use the “Rest of the World” category. After you have selected your section and category you will then be presented with the following screen:
1. Title – This is the name of the bar, hotel, restaurant or tourist attraction you want to review. For example, you would use the title “Eiffel Tower” if you were reviewing the Eiffel Tower. You must fill in the title in order to be able to submit the review. Next, you can write the summary of the review and upload any relevant images. The summary of the place should be as objective and impartial as possible. You can give a more subjective and personal view in the later reviews section. This is so that others can add in their own thoughts on the place.
After you have filled in the information above you can then give your own personal review on the place. First, use the drop-down menus to rate the place you are reviewing out of ten. The higher the number – the more you like the place. Did you know…? If you come across a review by someone else that you think will help you, you can actually add it to your profile page to look at later. Perfect if you are planning a trip or a move to a new country. Click the Add button when you’re on a review as seen in the picture below.
