No matter where we are in the world we all miss Britain occasionally. Here are the top five things that Brits miss most about home.
Pubs
We don’t mean “bars” either - we mean pubs. Good old fashioned pubs
where you can ask for a nice pint of bitter and have a chat with your
mates around the fireplace in winter. Even better are the pubs that
serve Sunday Lunch, which leads us to…
Roast Dinner
We know that there are a number of fantastic and exotic restaurants
throughout the rest of the world, but no matter where you are, there is
still a craving for a good traditional home-made roast dinner. We want
home-made Yorkshire puddings with stuffing and gravy please.
Decent cup of tea
My kingdom for a decent cup of tea! While there are an array of
herbal tea’s available abroad, nothing quite beats a lovely British
cuppa. We’re still looking for the perfect cup of tea abroad, so if you
know of any places then leave why not leave a review of that special
place so our other expats can enjoy a taste of home.
Fish ‘n Chips
Although there are some great seafood restaurants out there we miss our
Fish n’ Chips. We want big chunky chips instead of fries and battered
cod instead of lightly cooked monkfish. We also want it served in
newspaper wrapper with lashings of salt and vinegar.
Family
Sometimes we’re lucky enough to make some good friends and meet some interesting people where we are. That doesn’t mean that we don’t miss our family though – especially around Christmas.
