The Grand Canyon is a steep-sided gorge carved by the Colorado River in the United States state of Arizona. It is largely contained within the Grand Canyon National Park — one of the first national parks in the United States. President Theodore Roosevelt was a major proponent of preservation of the Grand Canyon area, and visited on numerous occasions to hunt and enjoy the scenery.

I'm not going to go on and on about the grandeur of it. It's worth seeing.
We arrived on a Thursday, about noon, spent the afternoon checking it out. Then returned Friday morning, and spent all day. A day and half is about the right amount of time, I'd say two days max, for most visitors. Of course, if you have aspirations to ride a mule into it, hike into it, or fly over it, maybe you'll need more time.
