Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park, set aside by the U.S. Congress as a national park on March 1, 1872, is located mostly in the U.S. state of Wyoming, though it also extends into Montana and Idaho. The park was the first of its kind, and is known for its wildlife and its many geothermal features, especially Old Faithful Geyser, one of the most popular areas in the park. It has many types of ecosystems, but the subalpine forest is dominant.

The geysers and hot springs are really nice. The colors are very beautiful and you will see all sorts of things, from bubbling mud to the most beautiful colors in the rainbow. However, I have to admit, after too much exposure to them, you may decide you cannot take the smell of sulfur anymore. You may want to take something (a piece of cloth, an extra shirt or a bandana) to cover you nose and mouth, especially if you have children with you. It may be a good idea to see only a few of them each day. Also, pay attention to the direction of the wind when you decide which way to go when you are walking around them. It is not too pleasant when the vapors keep coming to your face for too long

Still, it is a beautiful park and well worth a visit.
